Facial Erythema Therapy with JetPeel by TavTech

Prepared by Wiktoria Odrzywołek Department of Basic Biomedical Science, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences in Sosnowiec, Medical University of Silesia, Katowice, Poland.

Case Description:

Patient Profile: 47-year-old female patient presented with persistent erythema, redness, skin dryness, and reported sensations of itching and tightness. Her medical history included psoriasis.

During the initial consultation, the following concerns were presented:

  • Persistent Erythema and Redness: Chronic facial redness with localized telangiectasias, requiring vascular stabilization and anti-inflammatory care.
  • Skin Dryness and Barrier Dysfunction: Noticeable dehydration and impaired skin protection, necessitating enhanced
    hydration and lipid barrier support.
  • Sensations of Itching and Tightness: Frequent discomfort associated with pruritus and skin tension, requiring soothing and barrier-repair interventions.
  • Stratum Corneum Integrity: Compromised epidermal function, indicating the need for reinforcement of the skin’s outermost
layer to improve resilience and moisture retention.

Before starting the treatment, erythema levels were measured on the right cheek (460) and left cheek (487). After the treatment, these values decreased to 354 and 361, respectively. Additionally, an increase in the stratum corneum hydration level was observed: from 57.2 to
63.8 on the right cheek and from 59.1 to 64.3 on the left cheek.

Treatment protocol

The treatment consisted of three sessions performed at weekly intervals.

Summary and Conclusion:

The treatment succeeded in reducing erythema, alleviating discomfort associated with itching and tightness and improving the skin’s barrier function.
